Saudi Arabia has announced that holders of UK, US, or Schengen tourist visas, or those who have permanent residency in an EU country, are now eligible for an instant eVisa. The Ministry of Tourism confirmed the new scheme on 12 June 2023, stating that first-degree relatives of visa holders and those with permanent residency in the US, UK or EU are also included.

To apply for the Saudi Instant eVisa, visitors must create an account on the online visa platform and meet certain conditions, such as having a valid tourist or business visa from the UK, US or Schengen area. Here is everything you need to know about the new Saudi Visa For US-UK-Schengen Visa Holders including the requirements and the step-by-step guide on how to apply.

Eligibility Requirements For Saudi eVisa

For those who hold a visa from the US, UK, or Schengen area, the following requirements must be met:

  • You must have a business or tourist visa.
  • Your visa must have been used at least once and have an entry stamp from the country that issued it. The digital entry stamp is not accepted by Saudi Arabia.
  • Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of entry into Saudi Arabia.

UK, US, and EU residents can apply for the visa if they meet the following conditions:

  • You must hold a permanent residence permit from the US, UK, or an EU country.
  • Your passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry into Saudi Arabia.

Currently, the Schengen Area consists of 27 member countries from Europe. The 27 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Saudi eVisa Validity

The eVisa, which is valid for one year from the date of issue, allows tourists to stay for up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia.

The visa allows you to take part in tourism-related activities such as, events, family & relatives visits, leisure, and excludes other activities such as studying.

Documents Required

  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of residence permit or visa

The passport photo must meet the following specifications:

  • 200 x 200 pixels in width and height.
  • Image size must be from 5 to 100 Kb.
  • Photo should show a close up of your face and shoulders.
  • Your face should take up between 70 to 80 per cent of the photo.
  • The background should be white.
  • The head should be neither at an angle or turned.
  • Headwear is acceptable for religious reasons.

How To Apply Saudi Visa For US-UK-Schengen Visa Holders

Step 1: Register an account on the Saudi visa platform

  • Visit the official website of Saudi Unified Visa Platform.
  • Click the ‘Services for visitors’ category.
  • Select “Visa Application from Saudi missions abroad” and click on “Apply Now”.
  • Click on “Register” under the login details.Enter your email address, create a password and enter the captcha code.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from the visa platform. Click on the link in the email to activate your account.
  • Enter your email address, password and the captcha code to log in.
  • Click on the “Add a new application” button.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions of the visa platform.

Step 2: Select your visa type

Under the visa information section of the application, enter the following details:

  • Visa Type: Select “Tourism Visit” from the drop down menu.
  • Select your nationality from the drop down menu.
  • Select your country of residence from the drop down menu.

Once you enter your nationality and country of residence, a question will pop up:
“Do you or any of your first-degree relatives have” one of the following visas:

  • A valid tourist or business visa from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, or one of the Schengen countries and has been used at least once to enter the visa-issuing country.
  • Permanent residence in the United States of America, the United Kingdom or the European Union.
  • A valid residence for no less than three months in the GCC countries.
  • Not from the above.

Select any one of these options. If you select any of the first three options, then you can apply for the eVisa online, and get it issued instantly.

Saudi Visa For US-UK-Schengen Visa Holders

Step 3: Enter US, UK or EU visa information

Enter the Residence or Visa Number, Residence or Visa Expiry Date, and select the Issuing Country from the drop down menu. It will only give you the options for the UK, US or European countries.

Step 4: Upload the required documents

The following documents needs to be uploaded:

  • Copy of passport
  • Copy of residence permit or visa

NOTE: The attachments must be in JPG, PNG and at least 1MB in size.

Step 5: Fill in personal information

The following details are mandatory:

  • Your full name
  • Passport details (Passport Number, Type, Issuing Country, Date of Issue and expiry)
  • If you have a previous nationality: select yes or no. If you selected ‘yes’ enter the previous nationality.
  • Place of Birth
  • Date of Birth
  • Personal details: Religion, Marital Status, Gender
  • Occupation
  • Home address in Saudi Arabia: enter your hotel reservation details or address details of a residence in Saudi Arabia where you will be staying.
  • Email address

Enter your transportation details:

  • Select the transportation mode: air, land or sea.
  • Enter date of entry into Saudi Arabia and enter the port of entry.

Step 6: Select if you want to perform Umrah

Visitors can also perform Umrah with the instant eVisa. You can select ‘yes’ in this step if you are interested. In accordance with the visa platform, you are not required to meet any additional requirements if you want to perform Umrah under this visa.

  • Next, select if you have travelled to other countries in the past five years.
  • If you have selected yes, enter the country and dates.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions and enter the captcha code.
  • Click on ‘Save’.

Step 7: Provide health details and buy medical insurance

You will need to enter the following details:

  • Expected date of entry of into Saudi Arabia
  • PO Box number
  • The city you reside in
  • Email address and mobile number

Answer a few questions related to any chronic health conditions you may have, with yes or no.

Choose a medical insurance plan. The cost of the insurance will be displayed. Then click on ‘Save’.

Step 8: Pay for the eVisa

  • You will then be able to see the total cost of your eVisa. Visa costs may vary based on the validity of the visa and the coverage of your medical insurance.
  • Click on the “Pay”‘ button.
  • The next step is to enter your credit or debit card details on the visa platform’s online payment page.
  • You will receive a confirmation email once your eVisa application has been processed once you have paid for the visa.

Once the application is submitted, the visa is issued instantly, and you will receive the eVisa by email.

  1. I am holding an Indian passport with a US visa, my visa has been renewed from 2018 and I have not visited the USA since 2018 but I have visited the USA on my previous visa in 2013 that was valid from 2008-2018.
    Kindly suggest the eligibility for e-visa.
